Charlie loved people. He also loved being his neighborhood block watch captain, sleeping in on the weekends with his parents, and lying in a warm sun spot on the floor. He was the very best boy. With no intention of owning a pet it was like he was let into my world to show me that the world still has hope and love. And in that moment, as a 16 year old, I didn’t hesitate and soaked in that responsibility fully knowing that at the end of the rough road there would be a time for me say goodbye. And as our youth wandered off with the years, all I can say now is “time flew too quick”. He was the best friend I can ask for.
